Someone recently gave my an old TD-6 Dozer and the manual. The trouble is that when I look through the manual, my engine, fuel delivery and many specs don't match My tractor. My tractor has a single head 6 cylinder diesel engine with no magneto. It has an electric starter and fuel is delivered by injection pump. My tractor was made by International Harvester for the U.S. Department of The Navy. I hope somebody can help me. Here are some numbers off the Identification tag. Serial# TD-62-G504-101. Manufacture year is 1964. Engine serial # G-504-101. Gross vehicle weight= 13,375lbs. Length=160 inches. Width=107 inches.

Scott, Your International "TD-6" SERIAL NUMBER "TD-62-G504-101" is a "1964 International TD-6 / 62 Crawler" / 6 cylinders - Diesel / 282 Engine.

It would have a 24 volt electric system / 24 volt starter / and etc..

Good luck, Bill

Scott; Sept. 8, 2001 If you can / get the block number off of the engine (this will tell what motor is in your crawler),and E-MAIL me "Guntanker@yahoo.com".

The number that you gave is a SERIAL NUMBER ( # G-504-101 ) and that matches the CHASSIS SERIAL NUMBER. The block number is a differant number. This is what I want.

Good kuck with your International Crawler and

Cheers, Milton

Here's the numbers that I got off of my IH engine block:
LEFT SIDE OF ENGINE WHILE IN DRIVERS SEAT
*Behind Starter= *6*8*K*
*Behind starter= M284418R2 or it could be M284413R2 but I think its an 8 and not a 3.
RIGHT SIDE OF ENGINE WHILE IN DRIVERS SEAT
*On machined surface of block =TD 62M 101 G504

That's all I could find. I hope someone can help me because this block is frozen from water damage.
MAHALO.

You have a D282 IH engine. The same engine was used in several IH Farm tractors, as well a turbocharged version in the later TD9's.

Sounds like the Government version of a TD-6 62 series.

I have a TD-6 62 series and it also has the 6 cyl engine, electric start.

If you have a manual that shows a 4 cylinder engine with gas start and switch over to diesel, you have an older manual for the TD6 series.

Mine has a loader (Drott 4 in 1) and the more I run the tractor, the more I like it.

good luck,
