Can anyone tell me when and where D6C SN 99J1322 was built?

Brewster Your tractor is a 1970 model and was built in the US. The D6C90B and D6C96B series were both build in Japan.

Thanks for the answers. Now I have a related question. I just purchased a service manual on Ebay that was purported to cover D6C series' 10K, 23U,..., 99J. I just received it today and find that the Lubrication and Maintenance Guide, the portion of the manual I wanted most, covers 99Js only from #99J1754 and up. I have 99J1322. Does anyone know how much I can rely on this guide? (It was printed 4-75.) How different might the 99J1322 be?

My book shows it is a 1970 model. I think it was probably built at East Peoria.

Thanks, Doug. I had talked to a parts guy at a local dealer and he said it was a 1967, but I'd heard elsewhere that the first 99J was built in 1968. I also heard conflicting things about whether the "J" meant it was built in Japan.

Many Cat machines with a J serial # where built in Japan but not all. Country of origin is sometimes on the serial# plate.

J3 and J5 D2's were built though the 40's, They for sure were not built in Japan!
