I looked at the TLB on Sunday. He operated all the hydraulics, and got it up in the air and ran through all the gears. It had a flat tire, but told me he'd replace both rear tires if I were to buy it. It has a 24" bucket on it, and he has a 36" that will also go with the machine. It has 5500 hrs on it, and he believes it's a 1986 model year, but would have to look at company records to know for sure. It has been in his company since new, run by union operators... For as cold as it was out yesterday, it started right up. (1 small shot of either) Fully enclosed cab, no extend-a-hoe, and no 4 in 1 bucket. Just a basci TLB. If I did make an offer to him, I want two new rear tires, and the 36" bucket, as well as delivery to my home. I was planning on offering him $11,500 at the most.. This is by far and away the most affordable 4WD TLB machine I have seen since I've been looking for the past 3 months... About $6000 less than CASE's & CAT's I've seen with more hours on them... Is there any reason I should stay away from a 1986 JCB 1700 4WD with 5500 hrs on it? Anyone know where I can find engine & tranny specs on this unit? I know it's a Perkins engine, but how much HP? etc... I see there are no manuals on this website for JCB? There is a JCB dealer about 20 miles from my house... Anyone that has experience with a JCB TLB of this size etc, I would definitely appreciate your input.
