I have a komatsu d31p that stops pulling. You can start the machine and it might go or not. Let the machine idle in gear and then it take off and push for a few minutes then fall out of gear. Leave it running and in few minutes and go back into to gear run like nothings wrong then fall back out of gear. You can start it up sometimes and go into gear run for few minutes then fall out. Has anyone run into this?

Have you checked the oil level in the transmission? If it is OK you will have to plumb in a gauge and check pressures. Possible problems include plugged transmission pump suction strainer, bad transmission pump, plugged transmission filters, debris in the transmission control valve, blown O rings between the transmission control valve and the transmission, broken sealing rings on the clutch packs.

Good Luck!
