About 3 months ago I bought a 1010C with the engine block cracked. I have just finished installing a 2010 combine engine in it. I have found lots of good information on this board. If anybody else is considering this swap, and needs any info I would like to help.

I'd like to know what modifications you had to do for the swap. I've got a good running 1010 gas crawler, but it's underpowered. I'd like to put a bigger engine in it sometime - a 2010 gas or diesel if I ever come across one. I assume the 1010 flywheel fit the 2010 motor? Didn't you post last week saying the engine had locked up?

The engine got tighter and tighter. When I pulled it back out, it would rock back and forth just a little bit. I pulled the rod caps, and found a tiny piece of grit in the number four cap. A very small scratch. Also where the oil had dried in it there was a gum left behind. I washed the inside of the engine with diesel, blowed it out with compressed air then coated it with new oil. The flywheel fit fine. With the engine warmed up I have 30 pounds of oil pressure on low idle. I used a combine engine. On the front of the engine where the mount for the pump goes, the holes were there and threaded. The engine I took out had a machiened notch to mate up with hollow dowls in the pump mount. Other than that it was completely bolt in. This antique will never be a modern dozer, but I am sure I will enjoy having it around. Thank you for your help.
