The Pony motor on my D4 has a newer replacemnt mag (a wico?). I took it out to repair it but now I'm wondering how to time it again. Is there an inspection plate behind the mag that you can see to line up the timing marks? Thanks in advance

Greg, there is a pipe plug on the back side, remove it look for "M" and align marks. take left spark plug out, put thumb on plug hole to feel for compression, and for said M. you need to take cap off mag to see which plug is firing, but it"s very simple.

Greg, I don't believe the valve cover needs to be removed from the main engine, but it may make it a littler easier to accomplish. It's really very easy to do, as there is only two ways it can go as long as the "M"s match. At worst it will be 180 out, just swap the plug wires at the cap.
