Looking for a book on basic logging road basics for bulldozers. Can anyone recommend any type of book that would cover road building on hills, cut and fill, ect? Where can book be purchased?

If you come back to this topic, there is another readily available source of information. If you go to google or other search engine, look up VanNatta logging page. Great site , lots of info, might be a help.

Moving The Earth, by Herbert J. Nichols jr. covers building pioneer roads and a whole lot more.

I'll second the suggestion that you get "Moving the Earth" by Nichols. You can get it on Amazon. It's an encyclopedic reference that I've gone to many many times over all kinds of issues.

If you can come up with a copy of "Moving the Earth", it will cover any type of operation that you can think of.
