when on a steep incline i lose foward and reverse until i raise the machine by using the bucket to push the machine back to a more level terrain and lower the bucket. the fluid is over the sight glass.

the sight glass you are refering to is for the hydraulic implement system. the transmission has a dip stick either in front of seat or just under seat. it sounds like the transmission oil level is low if machine pushes fine on flat ground and stops pulling on incline the oil is moving away from the suction tube causing a cavitation of the transmission pump.

I do not know for sure but you might want to take a look under your seat for a dipstick for checking trans fluid level, I bet the level is low,

Sight glass? There IS no sight glass for the transmission fluid - you're looking at the hydraulic reservoir for the loader or dozer - it's totally separate.
