I just bought a 575D Loader Backhoe.

How do I insure this thing against theft etc???

I will be leaving it at my lot, unattended for days at a time, I'd hate for this thing to get stolen...

I do not own a small business, and I have never owed a home, so I do not have homeowners insurance...

Right now all I own is some vacant land, and this 575D...

Any ideas???

Farm Bureau (at least here) will write a listed property policy for between $6 and $7 per thousand in coverage for fire, theft, vandalism on a farm owners policy, about $10.50 a thousand by itself. They will also put a liability rider on for about $150.

ETD - My machine is on my lot unattended (except for my neighbors keeping an eye on it), and I got an Inland Marine policy from State Farm to cover it. It's like $200 a year for $10,000 theft/fire/vandalism insurance.

Thanks seann, there are a ton of State Farm agents in my area, I'll talk to one of them...

So the type of policy is "Inland Marine"???

I've contacted a few places, no one wants to cover it...

Inland Marine insurance policy covers equipment.
