I would like to change my dozers ignition to an automotive style ignition. Any body out here have any suggestions?

Its pretty easy to do and you can use the existing distributor cap, points from the 18. I have a photo of the schematic I used along with photos of my set up, if I can find them. I'd suggest that you start by getting a simple schematic of a battery-coil-points system and then incorporating this into what you have. The "most major" change I made was to drill into the existing distributor cap and installing a terminal to accept the high voltage input from my coil. Thus, the spark voltage comes from the coil instead of the magneto. By converting to battery ignition, it eliminated unpredictable performance of my magneto.
