Ok, fixing some things on my new toy.FORD 1993 575D TLB. I noticed when I first bought it, there was a clevis with a busted off piece of threaded rod in it connected to nothing, I wondered what it was. When I got my manuals, I discovered it was the Hydro Mechanical Self Leveling Linkage. Keeps the bucket parallel with the ground while raising a load. I figured that would be a cool feature, and I'd like to get it working again. I checked out the prices of the parts I needed, and decided they were too much, so I made my own. After bending a section of threaded rod the first time I hooked it up and tried it out, I then realized someone had put the bell crank on upside-down. Once I figured this out, I thought I was all set... I tried to follow the instructions on how to setup this linkage from the operators manual I have, but it seems like the loader & bucket movement always go farther than the bell rank and lever will allow on the spool valve, and I end hp bending the hell out of the nice new linkage I made up. Anyone have experience with this linkage? Question for operators, do you use this feature a lot? Or do most guys remove the linkage and just operate the bucket tilt & loader height combination manually when lifting a load of material? I feel like I wasted 2 days on this little project...
