I recently acquired a jd455 crawler loader, the transmission runs hot, I have had the radiator off and cleaned, also changed the filter and screen, the loader just had new clutches put in and at first thought this was my trouble. After futher investigation the transmission oil gets hot when the loader is just idling. When the clutches were replaced the pump was replaced also. Any Ideas??

Either the transmission isn't adjusted right or the cooler relief valve isn't opening. It also could be something wasn't assembled right, maybe a broken sealing ring on the manifold when installing the clutchpacks into the case..A sure fire way of checking for leakage in HLR unit is a gauge.. See if pressure raises or drops 25 lbs or more from idle to wide open throttle. It shouldn't..... .
