I BOUGHT A 450B JD DOZER AND I'M HAVING A PROBLEM WITH THE STEERING CLUTCHES.WHEN I PULL THE LEFT LEVER THE DOZER STOPS. THE RIGHT LEVER WORKS FINE. WHEN I BRAKE ON THE FLOOR THE DOZER TURNS TO THE RIGHT,WHEN I PULL BOTH LEVERS BACK IT STOPS.WHEN I GET IT IN A BIND THE LEFT TRACK TURNS BUT THE RIGHT TRACK DOESNT.ANY COMMENTS ON WHAT TO TRY?ALSO NEED A GOOD PART SUPPLIER.

IS IT POSSIBLE I PUMPED TO MUCH GREASE INTO THE TRACK AND CAUSED THIS PROBLEM?

No. You might be able to pump it so tight the engine will stall instead of moving the track, but a tight track won't create the symptoms you've described. But, if you're concerned, take five minutes and loosen the track. Loosen the set-bolt that holds the grease ball, or if it's stuck, take out the grease fitting.

jdemaris has pretty much got it covered. One more thing though. If the tractor stops moving with the left lever pulled back this means that the majority of the trouble is on the right side. Just the opposite of what many people think. If you get into it we have replacement parts available at reasonable prices. Be sure to check us out on the web at pdmechanical.com.

Sounds like you, at the least, need some steering clutch adjustment - and probably some new steering clutches. Also sounds like your brake linkage is seized to your steering linkage. That is a common problem. Try holding down hard on the brake pedal, and while doing that, see if you can freely move your steering levers back and forth. You should be able to, but I bet you can't.

I tried on what you suggested on pulling back on the levers, they pulled back easily. Is that good or bad?if The brake linkage is seized how can you free this up? Thanks for your help.
