I found a couple of 450 rear counterweights but both are simply too far away to ship to NC. The counterweight I found in CA is going for almost a give-away price too.

There is a place in Goldston NC where they dismantle old machines. I sent them an email several months ago but never got a response. I'll have to give them a call and see what they've got. Its a couple of hours drive from me so I could go get it myself.

I'm mostly working on the 188 engine rebuild at the moment. Got the in-frame kit in today. Looks nice. I've got the head apart and ready to get it surfaced. I'm going to look around for a good set of used injectors. The pencil injectors are not really rebuildable, but I'll settle for a set thats been cleaned up and calibrated.

That cast iron oil pan sure was a pain to get out. Had to loosen the 3 engine mounts, raise the engine a few inches and tilt it slightly to get clearance to pull the pan. The bottom of the pan has what looks like a plate where a torque rod might be mounted. Gets in the way of the rear crossmember. Makes me wonder if the engine came out of something other than a crawler since its not connected to anything as far as I was able to tell.

You bet that weight is heavy. Something like 1500 lbs. I had the good sense to run the loader up on a pair of 4x6 boards. I've been under it when its on the ground and its a tight fit.
