Hi John, I use the tch, in the trans. and regular hyd. fluid in the tank for the loader and hoe. If you don"t have a lot of leaks in the hyd. system then using one fluid would have to be the tch. It is more expensive but you can use it anywhere. Where as the hyd fluid is best used only, in the hyd system, like the loader, hoe, rippers, blade, etc. If there a lot of leaking ram seals, then it can get expensive replacing the hyd. with the tch, but like I said you can use the tch, anywhere.

Thanks for all the help. This is my first CASE and although I am enjoying it, I have alot to learn.

Another thing, can you tell me where to look to check the transmission fluid?

Again, Thanks.

I run TCH all through my 450, i'm told it has additives that makes the tranny last longer.

That's what my manual says to use in it too.

My Case dealer recommended Case Hy-Guard for the transmission and bucket hydraulics. He sells it for about the same as TCH. Apparently TCH is an older fluid.

CASE tch is whats recommended but if this machine is second hand more then likley they have been useing plane hyd. oil the only thing it's used for is to run the hyd. and not any trans or power shift. i use plane hyd. oil in the hyd. only and TCH in the power shift and trans
