I am looking at a cat E120B excavator that shows 1720 hours on the clock, which has to mean 11,720 hours. The undercarriage has about an eighth of an inch of wear on the pins, the sprockets aren't bad, the glass is all good, the boom is tight, instrument panel glass is intact, the seat isn't trashed and there is no rust anywhere. The engine has a reasonablly small oil leak on the front, and a lot of nice dry dirt everywhere else. In other words, this is the cleanest old machine that I've looked at, and all for about twenty thou. But is has, has to have, one heck of a bunch of time on it. Any advice or warnings would sure be appreciated.

Look for any cracks in the frame, boom and stick around load points.
