I have an HD6 crawler that has a positive ground system. I would like to change the machine to a negative ground. How difficult would that be??

My first question, is why? If you plan on retaining the 24 volt system, I can't think of any advantage to changing polarity. If you are considering changing to a 12 volt system, that's a different story - but in that case, you'd be changing the starter and generator anyway. You can't run the 24 volt starter on 12 volts. That all being said - you should be able to reverse polarity with hardly changing anything - except perhaps the voltage regulator. The polarity on the generator can be electrically reversed. The starter doesn't care which way it's run. Some voltage regulators, if marked "N/P" can be used either way, but if marked just "P", you'd probably have to change it (can't say I've tried it, though on an HD6). If you have any 24 volt accessories that are self-grounded or polarity sensitive - you have to deal with it - but none come to mind on an OEM HD6 since it came with a mechanical pump shut-off and mechanical gauges.
