I replaced the fuel filters on my Case 450. After that, it turned over but wouldn't start. Then it would not do anything at all, nothing. Is there some kind of reset to this thing?

Thanks again,

John

Some Case machines had a push button circuit breaker, have a good luck around the dash, it may have popped and needs pushing back in,the starter should nor fail that easy unless you kept it turning over for a long time and it overheated,it would smell real bad, have you got lights ect.

I hate to be too basic here, but did you fill the filters with fuel and bleed the air out at the injector pump? Worst case, it would'nt start because of air in the line and then the starter burned out from cranking it over too long.

Thanks Wilko. Not too basic at all. I did not know to fill them with fuel nor did I know about bleeding air out of the injector pump. Not familiar with these tasks at all. Any additional help would be highly appreciated.

bleeding the fuel system is a must after you open the fuel system for any reason.
first look for a hand operated primer pump on the machine. it is most often found on the engine and is connected between the fuel tank and the filters. this pump may have a plunger or a lever on it. look closely for the lever, as they are not very big. next, open the bleed screw on top of the filter housing[s]. pump the lever untill fuel flows steadily from the bleed. next try to find any bleed screws on the pump, and bleed the air from the pump too.
next you will have to bleed the injectors.
loosen the injector fuel lines at the cylinder head, and crank the motor untill you see good fuel coming out[foamy fuel does"nt count].
tighten the injector lines and attempt to start the motor.

remember, cranking the starter too long will get it hot.
if you can"t touch the starter motor without asbestos fingers, its too hot.
try cranking it over, you should begin seeing smoke at the exhaust. no smoke means no fuel.
make sure that all fuel shut-off"s are on.

if this doesn"t help you, write me a note, and we will get to the bottom of it.
