When tilting the dozer blade to the left, the forward movement of the dozer will slow to a stop. When the blade is tilted back to the right, the dozer will start moving again. Is it in the joystick? It acts like the valve is robbing the hydrostat pressure. Any help is appreciated.

There is a pull-down adjustment on the control valve under floorboards. I used to work on these dozers years ago..I emptied my brain of any memory of these machines... I ran into many of these machines that had problems with tracking straight...I haven't worked on one for many years because I was Service Manager at a Deere dealership and I got stuck working on 750-850 machines for 3 stores. Some I could straighten out , others not.. Get a book and study it.....Follow every step just as it says....Good Luck. Oh , see what kind of oil is in it. It should be red hydrostatic oil,not hygard..

...as far as the oil in there...the red hydrostatic oil was discontinued years ago..JD Hy-gard..JD low viscosity Hy-Gard and 10-30 motor oil are acceptable in there...there is a pull-down adjustment on the control valve..Also , the slotted mount on the throttle cable clamp at the injection pump has an effect on proper operation. It "times" throttle position with a variable orifice in the transmission control valve. has anything been changed recently ??

Is the engine lugging down excessively ?? or does it stay the same but track speed drops off??? I'm assuming that the throttle is wide open , or close to it?

Jonathan in MA, the engine is running at WOT. The track speed drops off in both forward and reverse. As soon as you start bringing the blade to the right the track speed will increase. With the blade all the way to the left, all track motion stops in either direction. It does not seem to make any difference if you are pushing dirt or have the blade up. Thanks

wow...thats an odd one...blade hydraulics are seperate from transmission hydraulics...its a straight 750 correct ?? not a 750C?...If its a straight 750 or 750B , try running the machine with the center floor removed..see if the drive shafts stop turning when the machine stops. They shouldnt.. If not running the blade, can you push ok ? and get the tracks to spin ??

Jonathan, it is a straight 750. I do not know if the drive shafts stop turning, I will have to check that. When not running the blade it will push all you want to push and the tracks will spin.

It sounds like the tilt is pinching a drive line hose, or something. I don't know if that is even possible on a 750, but I'd suspect that something similar is causing the problem.

You have a problem with adjustments and it has been to long for me to remember how to do it . It would be in your best interest to have and old John Deere mechanic plug the gauges into it and check it and do readjust it whenit is wright it should do nothing but haul arres and push dirt If it can't spin the tracks with a full blade then she ain't wright , i have run a bunch of 750's and 850's and when they are wright nothing will touch them as i have worked them along side of Cat's and IH's and a few A/C and a bunch of Case's and a good 750 will out work a D 6 D and a TD 15 could not even carry the fuel to a 750 and the 1150 Cases what a joke. I ran them in the Oil Patch and on construction jobs i sure did like them and i use to run Cats
