Looking to change all the filters on my 350B. The service manual says torqguard JD oil. Was hoping to use Rotella T in the engine and regular hydraulic oil in everything else. Is this OK or should I be using the JD stuff? Thanks for the help

Rotella T is a good recomendation,I use 15w30 but if your engine uses a little oil then the 30w might be better.Use any good tractor fluid, the main thing is that it must be non foaming in the tranny,I use it in my tranny and hydraulics also because it is better than plain hydro fluid and is not too much more expensive, that way you only need one bucket setting around instead of 2 and less chance of putting cheap hydro fluid in the wrong place that way.

Hey guy, I use the equivalent to Jd trans/hyd from a major oil company, for my gearbox and reverser as there is no JD dealer within 900 miles. Just ask at the bulk supplier, but for instance, union 76 calls it tractor fluid, others call it tgh or tdh, Esso hydraul 56 0r 50, or for cold weather I use Dexron III. Any good brand of motor oil for the engine. My book says single grades but JD service advisor told me to go ahead and use 0w30 for sub zero weather, so I guess multi grades are ok. I use 15w40 in summer and have had no troubles. I use the Dexron year round in dozer hydrualic system and again have no trouble, but I am mostly logging and not hard pushing etc.. In my winch I use the same as reverser and gearbox in summer and 0w30 for winter, as my book says 5w20 and no one sells it around here. Hope this helps.

Depending on where you live, motor oil can be either 15W40 multigrade or 30 wt straight grade oil.. Should be designated for diesel engines and extreme service for best results.. Hydraulic oil can be a regular AW [ all weather ] hydraulic fluid.. Final drives, Transmission , Reverser should be Tractor Fluid that designates on the can for use with transmissions and wet brakes.. Bottom rollers, top rollers , front idlers use 30 wt. motor oil, unless they have grease fittings for a special grease that has the consistancy of loose vasoline called Roller and Idler Grease.Track adjusters take regular chassis grease.

I use Pennzoil Hydra-Tranz for the hydraulics, tranny, reverser and final drives on my 350b. Here are the spec sheets>Link
