I just picked up a 9300 hoe that has the tank relief valve removed and a pipe plug in the hole. J.D. still has the part and the price is outragous. Im wondering if anybody out there recalls the valve pressure setting? As far as I can sumize the valve is there for static thermo expansion of the hyd. fluid when the hoe is disconnected and lines are sealed up. The pressur e at the dozer tank is very low so the back hoe tank would be low when in operation yes? If I knew what pressure the valve was set to I could simply get a valve from a valve shop

The valve is set about 100 psi. It is there to prevent the tank from blowing up when some idiot disconects the return line from the hoe with the engine running!!! When removing the hoe from the machine always shut off the engine before disconecting the hydraulic lines. I have seen when this was not done and the valve Blow!! One idiot covered from head to toe with hot oil. I hand I good laugh, after that he took my advice.
