The pup motor on my D4 was running fine then it backfired twice and quit. Now I have no spark. Is there any shear pin or other reason for the magnito to quite working. Any help would be appreciated. Thankyou.

Drill,
First thing, check to see if the mag rotor turns when the pony is turned over. ( remove whatever is necessary to get to the dist. cap, rotate pony by hand to vetify movement).
If rotor turns, replace points & condensor or, clean & reset point gap, check for spark. Yes spark, happy dozing. No spark, pull mag to replace, or have replaced, the coil. If rotor does not turn when pony flywheel is rotated. Take a bottle of Jack Daniels, when jug is almost empty fire up your computer, post outcome of drinking all of the Jack, and I'll give you the rundown on what I had to do to get my kitty purring again. Good luck
