HD7 3-71 (1949, 50) (big)..
Look at it again last night.
Missing starter, and generator, also inspection plates on block, front idler. 64 in center to center on rear sprockets
26.00 Front idler diameter.
I could not read serial number on dozer.
Left track is off, 8ft 2 in front blade width.
Motor is stuck.
Probably needs good rollers on left side.

1. What does go on the left side of engine?
Starter, gen, oil pressure sending unit????

2. Has a huge winch on it (big)
Carco Model F Serial number
2860f4
Does some one know something about this winch???

3. There is a fuel line that is under the seat, it is disconnected there, what was hooked up there??? (Filter)??

What’s it worth, $300 to $600??
I believe I can break the 3-71 loose, (been there done that)
But the track that is off is HUGE..

what do you think???
thanks
much

I've got a HD-7W (wide track), 1943. Trying to get her running now. I've been told that not many people want these because you have to basically disassemble the tractor to work on the steering clutches.

The fuel line under the seat goes to a fuel filter. Its located on the right side, about a third of the way from the front of the seat, next to the steering clutch assemblies

It sort of sounds like you'd put in a lot of work, spend alot of money on parts, and have a medium sized tractor for level ground that really isn't worth very much.

On the left side of the motor is a very expensive starter, and a generator, oil filter. I'd be happy to forward a photo of mine via email.

here is one in CA for 400
Link

if the engine in the one you are looking at is wrecked, it seems that there are ads elsewhere for 3-71 runners around $1500.

a concern I would have would be for drivetrain parts and undercarriage. is Allis as plentiful as Cat or Deere?

Time and money can solve problems, but you probably don"t want to have to machine your own parts in your situation.

These guys may have parts in Idaho.... That is near Washington, right?

good luck
Matt
