I'm new to pulling a trailer behind a dump truck.
Some times when I have a machine on it say 15 ton excavtor on tag trailer the trailer bucks as I drive down the road, and its a new asphalt road surface.
Asked locally what the cause of it was and got smarty pants reply, real helpful.
Any one on this site have ideas as to what causes the trailer to buck?
buck means feeling the trailer pull an push on the pintle hook, feel it in the cab, shakes the truck, truck weighs 20,000 lbs.

If the load is kind of balanced on the tag along then it will bounce on the pintle hitch. Maybe this is what you are talking about. Can you try loading the machine differently, so as to get more weight on the tongue? Another possibility is uneven tire pressures, if the trailer is a tandem.

A number of things can cause that, if you don't have springs/shocks on the trailor it will cause that. Also to much tire preassure can cause that. But it is also some watt normall for that also a pintle hitch is loose and when you slow down or speed up it sort of jumps back and forth. Been there done that since I retired from being a truck driver last thing I was doing was driveing a dump truck. And where I live if could be fun and not in a good way, miss by 6 inchs in places and you and the truck would go swimming.
