D2 CAT Oil Pressure adjustment question

I have an early model (1938) D2 with very low oil pressure (also very few hours on the clock). I have seen something in one of the books about adjusting the oil pressure on thse old CATS by turning a knob that is found on the bottom (side) of the oil-pump. However, nothing I have read says anything about "how much" I need to trun the thing. I don't want to do something that may cause me even more problems. Is there any suggested amount that it should be turned?
Thanks much for any advice.

well, experience would just say to turn the knob clockwise, or tighter, a quarter turn or so and then start it and look at your oil pressure, if it went up 3 lbs, crank it some more, if it pegs the gauge, which is highly unlikely if you tighten in small increments, then loosen a little. just play with it, you wont break anything if you are ginger with it and move things in small increments. have fun troubleshooting. thehickdaddy

Hey Pard, thanks for the input on the D2 oil pressure adjustment. I'll give the quarter-turn at a time suggestion a try and see what happens. Wonder what pressure they ran at when new? 30 probably ain't bad?
