This was the first thing I had to do to my 450 loader. The brakes were sticking on and would heat up.

The manual calls for you to pull the entire brake assembly out in one piece. I would not do that. The left hand side assy would not clear and I had to cut the transmission hi/lo lever bracket.

Here's what I recommend:
Each brake assy is held in place on the transmission housing by 4 nuts. Leave these on for now. On the face of the brake assy you will see 3 or 4 bolts. Take these out first and remove the face of the brake chamber. Removing the face of the chamber first gives you the extra working room you are going to need. After doing this you can remove the 4 nuts which hold the chamber to the transmission and pull it straight out.

There are likely to be some shims on the back of the chamber where it fits to the transmission housing.

Once the chambers are off you can take them apart like the manual shows.

Best of luck,
John

Say Stress, Is your machine a dozer or loader?

We've used our loader without brakes for years. Use the bucket to stop us. You must have hills up are your place.

you need to be pretty thin / need two elbows on one arm / 10 inch long & very strong fingers / a steel rib cage / but apart from that you should have a barrel of laughs ( if you get my drift)
cheers
