Hydraulics question

I have a Ford 420 backhoe/loader and need to replace some hoses and possibly put some new seals in rams.
I am new to hydraulics and am wondering how to release pressure on the high side so I can work on these things. I don't want an oil bath or worse, so any help would be appreciated

You may want to have a clean can there to collect ant oil draining out of cylinders. Then when you're finished, pour it back in.

On most units, hydraulic pressure is relieved by lowering all equipment to the ground, or against it's storage locks, then with the engine off, move all functions, also try the steering and brakes, in all directions until nothing tries to move anymore. then crack fittings slowly to be sure. then do the repairs.
