I finally remembered to ask Dad about the problem your having with the 7G not wanting to pick up after the oil change. He worked at the local A/C--Fiat/Allis dealership back in the 70's and said what your seeing is most likely a fairely common problem. He said there is a suction filter screen below the floor plates that will stop up over time. When it's stopped up and you drain the oil the pump loses it's prime and then doesn't have enough suction to pull the oil through the dirty filter and all the way to it's suction port. Just one of those things that only works right when all conditions are perfect. It is located right below your left foot as your sitting in the seat. It's in a small rounded housing coming off the front of the transmission housing and should have 4 bolts in it and a line coming off of it going to the pump. Remove the filter housing and the filter, clean it out, and try it again. Dad said this will typically take care of the problem but if it doesn't then you probably have a pump that's simply too worn to be working like it should. There is also another filter on the right hand side that he said routinely gets stopped up. It's in with a venturi type pump that is designed to draw oil back to the transmission from the converter housing. He said typically when they went out in the field to check/clean one of them they did both. If I'm interpreting what I saw in the parts book, and what dad said, right it should have a line coming to from the converter housing going into one end and another one out the other end back to the transmission housing, and it was mounted to the front of the transmission housing also. Good luck and I hope this helps. If it doesn't let me know and I'll ask if there is anything else Dad remembers that might cause the problem.
