I am going to backfill with some kind of material along an old concrete wall inside of a barn. The wall leaned outward into a lean-to added onto the barn. I dug the dirt out of the inside and pulled the wall upright. I will add some rods to help hold the wall upright. Now I want to backfill it so as not to put as much pressure against it. I store machinery/tractors inside. What will tend to hold the weight the best without pushing against the wall???? Waste lime? road stone? fist size limestone?? Any help will be appreciated. andy

Dense heavy clay compacted in should do you. Blue clay or yellow clay of dense consistancy if available. Also river bank gravel with fines to fist sized stones also compacted.
