Never heard of it. Allis DID have a 650 series including a 653. It's, more or less, an HD4 with a new name.

I am thinkin it must be 653 instead of 563,, any idea where I might find a complete diesel engine for one? I have a chance at one with a gas engine,, someone pulled the diesel out and put thye gas in,, now it has no power,,I can get it for 1500 it has new pins and bushings and a 6 way blade,,Thanks,,,Jim

I wish I could find a parts machine in that price range. $1500 is probably a steal. I'd buy it just for the tracks, rollers, and sprockets. In regard to the diesel engine, I don't think Allis Chalmers used it in anything else but the HD4/650 series crawlers and the 615 industrial tractors. Supposedly, there were a few D15 ag. tractors with the engine, but I've never seen one. It is 200 cubic inches, engine model D2200. HD4s were made up through 1969. Then, the name was changed to the 650 series and production continued until 1975. Later 650s have a little heavier undercarriage than the HD4s, but all the parts interchange. If you are anywhere near me (central New York), I'd share the cost of a parts machine if you want to get an engine that way. There is one near me for sale now with a newly rebuilt diesel engine, advertised as a "parts" machine, but the guy wants $4000 for it. Too much for me.
