On my recently aquired JD 420C 5 roller machine the rear sprockets are rubbing the back bottom rollers on both sides. Does anyone know the common cause and fix? Is it possible the bearings in the final drives go bad and cause this to happen? I have never had one of these apart and would like to know what to check before I tear off the track and go inside. Any info would help.
Thanks,
Mike

If the sprockets are touching the rollers, then the final drive bearings are shot, and the track stops will be chewed out as well. I would not run the crawler any further until you fix this, bull gears and final cases are much more expensive than bearings.
