I"m looking at a 70 350C, 5900 hours, diesel, rollover, the track are at least 80% along with other parts but sprockets are only 20-30%. Orignal paint, not damage, no dents, needs seat but can used, belly damage free,no winch. Came from estern NC second owner, asking $12,500 says will haul to my place, i can try it for a week and he will hold the check and come get it if not what he is representing is true, he states if something breaks thats not just worn he will come get and fix, small equipment dealer, sells used stuff and states has good rep and wants to keep it. Never had unit like this, should this blade be 6 way? I will have a retired heavy equipment mechanic, 40yrs experience look at, he charges $100 for a local inspection and test drive, he does that for several small companies local.

What are my benifits of spending this much on older machine when thes Komatsu and Mitsibushis everywhere for sale, later model stuff. What"s a guess on the parts cost for the sprockets, I can replace them myself.

Thanks for any info

I bought a 68 350 with new batteries, a QT #93 backhoe 36" bucket & a 6' 6 way blade for $10K. 6800 hours, refurbished 200 earlier. Farmer also gave me a pallet of spare parts and and extra diesel engine & power reverser, hyd cyl's, etc.(he cleaned out the barn)

Parts available at local JD ag dealers - 350 was last of ag yellow machines.

If you don't have tools & skills to mess with tracks hire the job done it'll be cheaper & less aggravating.

You might consider running it for a year or 2 if light duty before heavy repairs. In 2.5 years my only repair cost was $500 for injector pump rebuild.

I looked at grey markets & Chinese but did not see the resale. Chinese has soft metal tracks that stretch chronically. Having said that my original plan to use it & sell it has changed to keeping & using...

You get more projects every summer from friends & relatives. In the spring I get 60 y/o cousins running thru the barn looking for the crawler.

First ...1970 and 350C do not belong in the same sentence...if its a 350C it will have wet steering clutches ...anything built in 1970 is a 350 or 350b . I forget when the change was...they have dry steering clutches...You need to research this some more...never trust an hour meter and anything the size of a 350 that was built in 1970 isnt worth 12,000 ...especially without a power angle and tilt blade
