I have two JD 420c's and of coarse the tracks on both are kind of beat. Does anyone sell new links, pins and bushings for these anywhere? Also need new pads(grouzers).Any idea on cost for each machine to replace tracks? One machine is a four roller and the other a five roller. I live in New England area(Ct.) Any input would be appreciated to help save my old iron. thanxChris

I found parts for my 420 thru a magazine called Uncle Henry's, published in Maine. They are online and small stores and gas stations sell them in the three northern states. 1010 tracks will fit but you might have to take a link or two out.

There are no new links available other than buying them by the half link from Deere, and they are close to $100 per half link.
New pins and bushings are available, new pads were available a few years ago, about $35/each, not sure if they are still available today.

Thanks for the info guys. There"s a company that specializes in undercarriage parts called Berco. Does anyone ever use them or get any parts for the MC to 1010 or 350 era dozers? Or even for any machine like cat d2 or case? They seem to be nationwide or even on the global market. Thanx again Chris

Berco has no MC parts, may still have 1010 sprockets, but I was told Friday that they were not available any more. They have rollers for 1010, and all of the undercarraige for 350. Berco makes all of Deere's undercarraige parts. Was told that by my undercarraige supplier, and also by the tour guide on a tour of the Dubuque works plant 2 weeks ago.

I'm Pretty sure that Berco has been making JD parts for a long time now, too - about 25 years ago I got prices on new 350 tracks from my John Deere Dealer and from another supplier who sold Berco stuff... Berco was considerably cheaper, but I decided to go with the "genuine" JD - of course after I got home with the new JD tracks there was a tag with "made in Italy" and the Berco logo attached them, so I guess I learned a new life lesson that day.

It ain't strictly kosher, but I'm running a shortened set of 350 tracks on my 40C. They work fine for me and are readily availble. Worn sets work best because I don't think the pitch is exactly the same and you don't want a huge lip on the grouser with the light built 40 finals.
