Hi folks, was talking to previous owner of hd6b and he said these axles are prone to breaking, this machine had a 2inch diam.solid shaft that run through one side of the track arm through the other with plate washers welded on both sides stabilizing the two together. This was taken of by previous owner and now he thinks it should be replaced when I repair the axle.Could anyone tell me if there was trouble with these machines so that this had to be installed.Any thoughts would be appreciated,
Naz

Is your machine a dozer or loader? We ran a HD6G loader on the farm for a long time, we used the bucket and a 10' blade on it. We broke a lot of things, but never a final drive. Ours had loader pads so it may not have had enough traction to cause problems. Other than the lower end of the Buda 344 or AC 6000 I can't think of any "weak" points. Hope this helps!

Naz, do you mean the shaft is to keep the track frames parralell to the machine? Ask for more pic from the guy that helped you before. Undercarrage pic's. If it's missing parts that can cause problems.
Later Bob
