We have a early 80's 931 loader with dry brakes. It will steer to the left and stop fine but it wont hardly steer to the right. But sometimes it will steer fine then the next time it wont steere at all. Any suggestions. Also what is a good manual for this machine before we tear off into it. Thanks Chris

Chris is it a 931 with peddals coming up through the floor plates or a 931B with peddals hanging from the dash? When it will not steer does it stop moving or keep traveling straight?

Chris the first thing you must do is to crank up the brake adjustment as tight as you can. Then make sure the peddals will not move. If they do shorten the linkage on them untill they don't. Then back them off to get a nice peddal travel(I can find how much)but wing it for now. Then if you find the machine stops instead of turning the bearing on the front of the steering valve spool is likely worn out and needs changing. You should be able to steer either way with a light toe pressure on each peddal.Email me if you need more.

Good afternoon Bob
Before I forget...Merry Christmas...
I have I think it's a 1987/88 931B...I am pretty new to this so my question is what's the by the numbers order to clutch and brake adjustment...the where and all to get at the
linkage ...I am a retired farmer so I'll
try on my own before callin in a Cat guy...I assume it's a dry clutch model...seems the clutches disengage but one side requires much foot pressure...I would appreciate any help for
this beginner...Thanks for your time... Steve
