I have a 750 or 755 Ford backhoe made sometime in the 1970"s. Problem, Hydraulics are not working properly. I was using the hoe for several hours one day and the main boom cylinder started to not retract, like it was bybasing over the relief valve. Now it apears that all ove the hydraulic functions are not working at low engin rpm and very sluggish at high rpm?? Fluid level is good, new filter installed. almost seams like ther is a valve stuck somewhere?? I have an extend-a-hoe on this and used to be you could stall the engine if you did not shift the valve back to center position fast enough. Any ideas on what could be the problem would be grately apreciated. Anyone have a hydraulic diagram they could share for this unit??

Does it work best cold then gets worse after it warms up? If so,sounds like a pump going out.If it has more power cold,I'd vote pump, since it appears to affect all functions of the hydraulics.

Does not change with temperature. I can hear fluid bypassing in the valve body under the levers for the hoe. I also hear the the fliud bypassing in the same spot when the bucket is moved. It is my understanding that pump pressure line is connected to the valve body for the hoe at one end and the other end of the valve body is connected to the bucket valves ( series pressure line to two valve manifolds) It could be the pump but I have a feeling that it is something bypassing inthe valves. I have taken every relief valve out and inspected them, nothing found. next step will be to take the valve manifold out and rebuild it. Big job not looking forward to it...
