I'm in the process of adding a backhoe to my 310 things got a little scary the other night. Maybe someone here has some imput as I'm a newbie to this stuff. The hoses that came with the hoe are 3/4" in and out, so I plumbed them to the 310 after the blade control block where the short little hose used to return to the tank. I fired it up and things are good leakage wise, so I turn around and start playing with the hoe controls. The first time I move a control, it snubs the motor. So, OK, its still pretty cold, refire and try again. The bucket starts flying around pretty good, so I try a downrigger, oops wrong way, its already up, the motor bogs hard and POW, a hose bursts. Now, the hoses aren't new, but is this the way to go about this, or should I choke this down to 1/2" and run it off the spares on my blade block? Thanks for any help!

It sounds to me like you need a pressure releif valve between your pump and the control. Most controls have them built in, but I'm not sure if your backhoe has one built in. I know Northern Tool or Surplus Center both have them, not that expensive. lol Dan
