I read something somewhere that said there is oil in the injector pump. If so, does it need to be changed periodcially? What kind of oil and how do you change it?

The very early Td5's used a C.A.V.pump,model BPE.These pumps had an oil sump in them to lubricate the cam etc. It uses engine oil. It will have a large brass plug on the side to fill it( & level check) There should also be a vent tube of the side of the pump housing. If there is an excess amount leaking out the tube, the pump is leaking internally & diluting the oil with fuel.A small amount of internal leakage is normal
The later TD5's used a C.A.V. pump, model DPA,which is a rotary distributor style pump & doesn't have an oil sump.

Here is a pic. There is only a comment in the owners manual. But nothing on which port to check, fill, drain, capacity, type of oil. I have never owned a diesel before. Only Gas and LP.

It depends on the engine and type of injector pump. My crawler has a hercules diesel with a bosch injector pump. The oil level in the injector pump and govenor is checked at the start of the day and changed when the crankcase oil is changed. It uses SAE 20 oil. Your operating manual should spell out your engine servicing requirements.
