Hi, a friend own a 940 Allis wheel loader. Today the loader stop moving and a bad noise come from the rear of the engine. It have a Deere, 4 cyl, in the loader. Does the 940 have a rubber damper, like a coupler, in the flywheel. Thank you. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada

did the loader stop moving when the noise started? usually it's the tranny that will stop the machine from moving.

Deere loaders use a rubber dampner. When they fail usually you will find a vibration and a rubber smell coming from openings in the clutch housing. I'm not sure about Allis. Any noise should be investigated. Pull that motor.

Hi Roy, thank for the reply. I will remove the starter and check for the trouble. The engine is not hard to remove too. All the loader work fine, the torque pressure is good, the charge pump have 400 hours. Bernard le mécano Québec Canada
