I had a mid 50's International TD6 follow me home yesterday. The seat has long rotted away.Anybody have any pics of what the seat cushion should look like?Anybody have any good ideas how to make a seat cushion and backrest? I was thinking 3/4 in.plywood with 5 or 6 in.thick foam rubber with vinyl upholstery covering it.Looking for other suggestions.By the way, this crawler has a Pullman blade on it.Anybody ever seen another one?I thought Pullman only made railroad cars.I'm wrong again.Thanks.

You are right about the 3/4 plywood. The seat on my 52 TD-6 is made of plywood. It has two metal straps on the backrest with an oversized hole turning into a slot. This is to remove the backrest and to keep it in place when down in position. There were two threaded pieces on the back of the tank at the lower end of the straps I think these were used to adjust the lumbar of the backrest. As far as The seat goes, I took mine into an uphostery guy and he replaced the foam and recovered the two pieces. It was probably 4" of foam, but I would recommend stuffing as much as you can in the seat; 5-6" if possible for comfort. My seat was black vinyl. And was sewn on the edges just like a car seat, vet very simply done.
