Anyone changed Bobcat 610 rear seals?

I have a Bobcat 610 that I am getting a pretty good oil leak from one of the rear axle seals. I had set it up on blocks, drained the oil, removed the wheel and side panel but from what I could see it looks like it was not going to be easy to get to the seal. Has anyone done this before? Is it pretty hard to do?

I do have a service manual but I think I am missing something, for example, does the nut inside the chain housing have to be removed?

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Charlie

I have an old 610 and I did successfully do this using the manual. I do seem to remember trying to work a wrench inside the case and only being able to turn it a tiny bit at a time, but it worked fine. Look at the good side: nothing is rusted inside there!

Hey Charlie, I'm not totally familiar with a 610 but I believe it is the same as the 643's, 743's and that era of machine. And if so yes there is a big bolt that holds the sprocket on the axle inside the chaincase and the rear ones are by far the worst to get at. Good Luck
