I have a d-20 komatsu which has been a good machine other than pricey parts, Looking to upgrade to a heavier machine ,any input about case 450 for a comparison other than the weight difference, are they as dependable and durable under every day conditions.

My dad sold Case Const. Equip. for years. The 450 is a very denpenable and strong little machine. He also bought a used mid '70's model 450 about 18 years ago. It has seen a lot of use since he's had it and very down time due to break downs.

I had a chance to operate one today, it was much more powerful and user friendly than the manuel shift d-20, but the d-20 komatsu also is a very reliable machine.

thanks for the response

I have a case 450 crawler. Its a '67 i think. I love it. it's a real work horse. small enough to get around and heavy enough to get some work done. I have never worked anything else. I have some older equipment that i use to work my property. if i can track down enough cheaper parts i plan on replacing my undercarriage next summer and redo the whole machine.
