Have been posting on other forums but missed this crawler backhoe catagory so some may be a double post. Just hauled home a 2244 a couple of days ago. It has a loader and I think a Massy backhoe(can"t tell which model). It is pretty big for that tractor. Is the Model 52 or Model 54 bigger. Will buy a manual from Yesterdays but need to know what it is before I buy it. The backhoe swing hydraulic motor works fine but the bottom bearing is in bad shape and the cross pin/shaft has been damaged. Does anyone have experience in best way to pull the motor. The hydraulic reverser transmission is slowing or stopping when at operating temperature but the past two owners were using dextron 111 which is a 5w oil and Massey said to use M-1110 which is a 10w-20 weight. That would account for the probpem when it gets warm. Also is worse for leaking. Found a Massey conversion spin on filter and will put it on when it gets here and use the heavier oil. So far most everything else seems to work. Had to leave law enforcement after over twenty years due to physical injuries but no retirement so now making heavy furniture. I do Range Management and Timber Cruise for some large Ranchs where I live in New Mexico. With help of my wife and youngest son I harvest special trees of the soutwest and mill them on a unique sawmill I have. From there we make heavy furniture and one piece table tops and counter tops. This tractor will be used with my HD-5 to skid and load logs in the field and at the mill. Anyone having experience with these tractors I could use any help you might have. Size wise they are sited for what I need but I need help with this backhoe motor. Thanks in advance for any help and keep those blades shiney. Craig
