I am new to this site, don't know if I am going about this the right way so excuse me if Iam not,and help me get to the right place.I have a good friend who has an Oliver crawler, model HGF42 he would like to sell. He has already restored the engine which is a Hercules 4 cylinder flat head, up draft carb. 3 forward speed trans., dirt blade with steel cleat track. This machine is somewhat disassembled for restoration and has been in dry storage continously. the motor and frame with rollers etc. are all together. I am assuming he has all sheet metal grills etc. also. He has a working John Deer 350 he uses for small custom jobs and bought the Oliver to restore. He is a mature gentleman and said he may not last long enough to finish the restoration and would like to pass the machine on to someone who will finish the restoration process. He doesn't have access to a computer or the internet so I told him I would see what I could do to help him sell his machine. We would like to know about what this machine is worth in it's dissambled state. He assures me that except for a few bolts that twisted off, he has every part that goes to it. Any feedback, info., or help anyone could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks bjlovellthiels@juno.com

I owned one of these up until about 2 years ago. A nice little compact machine. I sold it with a trailer to a friend who likes tinkering with thus. I took $1000 bucks for the package, needing a little tinkering which I didn't have time for anymore. Realisticly your machine should be worth up to $2500. If you need parts, I know a guy in Duluth Mn. with junked out ones.

Landis Zimmerman, Ephrata, PA is considered by many to be the guru for the old Oliver and Cletrac crawlers. You can Google his phone number (which I don't have handy). If you call his shop you might get some info that would be of use.

Rebecca, It would be helpful to know the location of the machine. Since it appears that it may not be in running condition moving the parts may be a little more trouble than usual.
