Are you talking about a Case/Poclain 125B,if so I doubt very much if the hydraulic pump has a problem, the Poclain pump is a fixed displacement pump, the 125 if my memory serves me has 5 flows, count the high pressure hoses coming off the back of the pump and that will tell you how many flows, should a section of the pump fail you would notice it by the lines vibrating badly, the problem you are having I would say is electrical so first off check all the fuses and relays, check the multi plugs are all pushed together tightly, find out if power is sent to the solenoids, can you feel the solenoids jump when the switches are operated,as I remember the wiring is all the one colour with numbers on the end that faded with age so be careful removing any wires that they go back on the same place.

It is poclain and electical sounds very possible. Because if it were a pump problem i assume it would not move if i manuly override the soleniods with the buttons and it does track when doing so.

You will now have to find out why the solenoid won"t work with the electric power, you need a 24V circuit tester, undo the connector from the solenoid and see if there is power there when the control switch is on,there is usually two wires in each connector, one is power and the other ground, the ground can often be the trouble as the solenoid is insulated so even when you got power in one wire you need ground in the other,if there is power and ground then check the solenoid itself,If its the case that there is no power been sent to the solenoid find the switch for that function and see if you have power to one side when switched off and two sides when switched on etc etc,be patient and you will find the problem, use a proper circuit tester and don"t ground wires to see if they have power as damage will be the result.Good luck

It sounds as if one section of hydraulic pump isn't making pressure. Most excavators have 2 pumps or 2 pump sections. Each pump or pump section powers 1 track each. If one track wont power up and the other one works fine , there is a pressure problem . When you hold a solenoid valve and the other track powers up then. Thats called combined flow , where both pumps are supposed to feed the digging functions. Oil is fed to each track indivually by each pump, then combined to make digging functions faster. Don't go tearing out the pumps....Look for a relief valve or shuttle valve problem first. Always go for the easy stuff first.. I ran into a Deere 490-D that had similar symptoms.. The guys mechanic pulled the pumps and disassembled everything.. Then the mechanic called me for some input, because he found nothing wrong in the pumps..Very time consuming setting pressures and pull-downs..
