hello. i have a brand new to me 74 case 450. I had been working for a few hours when i wrapped a piece of fence in my tracks. I stopped machine and got off to try to get it out. when i started the dozer back up, it wouldnt move, and trans oil pressure was at 0, torque converter pressure at 0. It starts and runs fine, blade and winch both work, but i cant get the darn thing to move at all. Any ideas on what the problem could be would be greatly appreciated. thanks

Be sure to check that you didn't bump the HI/Low shifter thats on the floorboard to left of center.(I think).

Did you start the machine in gear, in otherwords with out all the levers being in nuetral. If you did you tripped the safety that some crawlers had. You either have to bring the levers back to nuetral or shut the machine off put the levers in nuetral and restart it should work then. P.S. you do have the flipper for the start button yet on your directional steering clutch control right.

Marlowe has some good suggestions. I would add that you should check for a collapsed hose at the same time. You might even have something pressing underneath that would kink up a feed hose.

Best of luck,
John

sounds like you lost the trans oil or you ripped the line to the charge pump of or have a hole in it it's on the right side of the engine most of it is steel but has a rubber hose on the end under the floor borads it might have come of or lose it's a suction line so a little leak will stop you

Thanks for the suggestions. I replaced the short rubber line going from the tranny (i think) to the charge pump, but still have no pressure in either the trans or t/c. I did fill untill the dipstick under the seat read full, but i havent been able to get pressure yet. By the way, it is in gear when i try to move, and in neutral when i start it, all other simple fixes of that style have been checked and ruled out, before i tried the forum. thanks again
