well, i checked the discharge side of the charging pump, and there was no output. however, if i pull the line off the filter can, and fill the feed to the charge pump, it will suck it dry in seconds. the driveshaft turns when the engine is running, but a little sporadically, sometimes fast and strong, others slow and can be stopped by hand.(thanks everyone for the saftey lecture in advance) i am going to try to get my backhoe over there in the morning to lift the back end of the ground, maybe force some of the air out. Also, does anyone if i could maybe prime the system by sticking the intake hose for the charge pump into a bucket of clean oil, push all of the air out? Seems to me that should force out the air, but at 12 bucks a gallon, would like to see if anyone has tried this and had it work. thanks again mtrdpl

like it or not you have a air leak in the suction line. a little pin hole is all it takes. had one on my 450 two years ago and drove me nuts looking for it and it was a crack in the line

Many thanks! got all the air out and got her going. opened up the discharge line on the charge pump and filled the tube from the filter to charge pump, ans fired it up. bout 3-4 minutes later i finally got some fluid out the discharge side of the pump, then all my pressures came up to normal, drives and steers great. Southeastern equipment, local case dealer is getting 59 for 5 gallons of tch. outrageous. Thanks again(marlowe)! mtdpl
