Hi folks, was wondering if there is anything you do for storing your dozer outside for winter, besides the anti-freeze.Thinking about the batteries and anything else I'm forgetting? It's on hard ground and I will be covering it.Thanks for any help,
Naz

Is there's any chance you might have to start it in the winter when it's sub-zero, you'd better winterize the fuel now - with some kerosne and anti-gel. Other than that, I tie a rope to the steering-clutch levers on all my dry-clutch crawlers when they get parked for the winter. On my HD6, a keep a piece of cord with a loop on each end - and it wraps around the fuel-tank cap. This keeps the steering clutches from getting stuck.

Hi jd,
Thanks for the tip, never thought of the steering clutches,I will do that. Can methyl hydrate be used in the fuel, only have 1/2 tank diesel in it,should I keep more fuel in the tank?Likely it won't be started over winter, been using heavy motor oil SAE40,fellow that work on them told me not to start it when freeziing out with that in it.!!!Thanks again,
Naz

Hey,Naz, If you're able, park it up on some railroad ties. That way if you do need to use it,it won't be frozen to the ground. It wouldn't hurt to wash/muck out the tracks either.Guess you got it fixed ok? Mine's still broken. Tim
