My boss just bought a 743B Bobcat from a used equipment dealer-(I hope he didn't give too much for this peice of junk!),I have to admit that I know little about Bobcats. This thing is leaking fluid from the right side. The hoses and valve assembly on that side or dry but there is hyd. oil under the engine and drips out under the right rear side of the machine.
Is this leak comming from the drive moter, and if it is how do I get into it to repair it?.

There is 4 (I think) metal tube lines that run from the control valve on the right side of the machine behind and under the engine to service functions on the left side of the machine, years of neglect and dirt build up cause these tube lines to rust out, they cannot be changed with the engine in place, if you can determine which one is leaking you can disconnect both ends of the tube line and run a regular hydraulic hose between them.

That sounds about right to me, it had leaves, sticks, rat nests- you name it around the pump and under the engine. I don"t know exactly how to figure which line is leaking but I can tell my boss that probably the only way to find it is to pull the engine. I"ll see if he will either get a service manual on it or send it to some who knows what there are doing.
