I have been using this hoe, parked it for about two weeks, and I fired it up. The hydraulics were real slow and sluggish, but the transmision (powershift) worked great, I drove it to warm it up, I revved it up to see if the bucket would move faster and the transmission filter cover blew off, the bolt holding it failed. I would think the hydraulic bolt would be the one that failed instead of the transmission since it the hydrulcs were so sloggish.
I'm guessing it could be the weather, it was about 5ºF, could there be some water in the fluid that iced up and clogged something? The fiter looked fine, I changed them both about six months ago. Any ideas? TIA, Ken

I have a 500 and when the hydraulics are slugish I will have to change the filters and it works fine again. Don't know why but it works and the filters look OK.

By the way how is your swing cylinder? mine was real bad (wouldn't hold position) so I took it apart to find bolts broken off inside and smashed around.

Skip, my swing cylinder leaks out the top. I bought a rebuild kit, tore it down, and rebuilt. The insides are fine, but it still leaks out the top and wont hold if not level. I will eventially try to use a couple cylider type rams and ditch the pot.

I ordered the bolt that holds the filter cover on, it must be made to break as a safety. Its a ½" X 7½" bolt and cost $21.50. The weather has warmed up quite a bit, I'm axious to get it and hope its just the cold weather that caused the high pressure. If there is anything else I should check I'd still appreciate any comments.
